This is a great checklist to follow if you want to have enormous impact on the right to keep and bear arms.
- Study and practice firearms safety, basic shooting and marksmanship, and tactics continuously.
- Teach first-time shooters safety and take them shooting (preferably .22lr pistol and then 9mm).
- Exercise your rights, including open carry at times (study how to do so most safely), as much as possible.
- Sign up for our newsletter and giveaway. If you don’t want to be in the giveaway you don’t need to provide your address, but please provide city/state/zip so we can let you know about important things happening that concern you in your particular area.
- Share our X/Twitter (@KeepAndBearOrg) – our Facebook (www.facebook.com/keepandbearorg) – and our website KeepAndBear.org with everyone.
- Record and challenge public businesses that ban guns. Film them if they talk to you about guns. Tell them you do not agree with their policy, you do not wish to change your personal self-defense habits when there is no good reason. Tell them you’d like to be left alone as a customer/client. You only have to leave if they tell you that you must. Do they want to reveal how unrealistic and ridiculous they are towards self-defense, especially when they don’t have metal detectors and armed guards inside and outside to properly protect occupants?
- Dump GMail and other mail providers that access your email and sell your personal info to advertisers. Get KeepAndBear.org Email/VPN instead to help starve the beast and promote gun rights with every email you send with your own @keepandbear.org custom email address.
- Support gun owners who are arrested for exercising their rights – even if they violated a “law”.” These unconstitutional “statutes” violate the 2nd Amendment (and are therefore not laws at all, but are null and void). Harm done to one gun owner is harm done to all.
- Create and join state groups that advocate the bold exercise of rights – not just talk. The existence and respect of rights rely upon use more than talk, laws, courts, politicians, and even organizations.
- See that your worthy state groups and leaders join KeepAndBear.org’s state leader forum.
- Host 100% charity events for gun owners to open carry and better the community.
- Consider civil disobedience at these events as a group. Open carry itself is disobedience to politicians, but we may need more civil disobedience – violating unconstitutional “laws” – to restore the 2nd Amendment.
- Half of the Second Amendment is the rights – the first half is the responsibility of militia duty. Be and train as a militia of one or more. Be the type of rifleman and riflewoman that founded this country.
- Video record and publish video of public servants – police, state and federal representatives and senators, bureaucrats, etc. Interview them and ask them questions. Why do they chill and violate our rights?
- BUYcott seriously pro-freedom businesses and business owners. Boycott anti-gun corporations and actors. Vote with your money everyday to advance freedom. The power of the purse is non-violent yet mighty.
- After gifting someone the knowledge and training of firearms, gift them a firearm or help them purchase one.
- Perfect your gun collection focusing on a smaller number of high quality firearms vs. a large number of low or mid-range firearms.
- Take professional, formal training as often as possible and from multiple instructors/schools. Training improves and hones techniques, creates muscle memory, and helps us revert under stress to effective action.
- Stock up on ammo, storing in airtight containers in cool dry places that don’t frequently have large swings in temperature.
- Create a body armor kit with ammo, tourniquet and clotting agent, and radio.
- Have water, water purification, food, and medicine to last months.
- Gladly accept that jury duty – you may get to be the one no-vote needed to hang the jury or turn the other jurors and free a fellow gun owner charged with a victimless “crime” that is actually the exercise of a protected right.
- See how worthy your state group is of your money. Support and praise them when they do good and give them feedback for both good and bad actions.
- Look into manufacturing your own guns. 3D printers and milling machines make incredible-quality receivers that don’t require serial numbers. Metal parts can be purchased without the need of an FFL to be put into home-made guns. Making guns, modifying guns, and fixing guns has been an American tradition since before the Revolutionary War – no licenses required.
- Write personal emails to legislators regularly, politely but firmly insisting they support powerful pro-gun legislation. Calls and in-person meetings are great as well.
