When the few want to increase their power over the many, all they need do is to use or create a problem. For this problem they will provide the supposed solution, which happens to increase their power and wealth. Often the problem is purposefully created simply to convince enough people to clamor to be taken care of. There are always a significant number of dimwits and ignoramuses who will happily beg for their freedom and responsibility to be stripped of them. For these people crave a state of blissful collectivism devoid of personal responsibility so much so that they’ll even accept extreme risks to their health and safety to achieve it. Anything to escape the fear of the truth – each of us is responsible for ourselves.
Often referred to as the Hegelian dialectic, the desired goal (centralized, despotic power) is achieved by problem > reaction > solution.
Terrorist attack, mass shooting, crime wave, other emotion tragedy. May be faked, real (seized opportunity), or even perpetrated by state actors.
Next is the reaction to the event. Emotions are high and people are not thinking. They are angry, scared, or perhaps terrified. State-sponsored corporate media partners lay the video and discussion on thick. The emotional reaction is clear – something will be done to save us all from this or prevent it happening again.
A “solution” is instantly proposed by the statists. The solution is unremarkably always the same: the giving up of civil liberties, due process, individual personal freedom and responsibility, free economic policy, and responsibility. Give more power and money to the state that couldn’t prevent the tragedy, and they promise they will prevent the next one.
New York City faces a real crime wave. It is as real as it was preventable. Misguided feel-good voters voted for a borderless nation welcoming everyone and anyone including serious criminals, generous free handouts which bolster entitlement and self-centeredness, and clear messaging that not only will the border laws not be enforced, but basic criminal law won’t be enforced, either. Many crimes against persons are simply not enforced – often no arrest, no bail money, no consequences. Of course these policies have created the perfect storm of crime – the highest in many, many years or perhaps ever in New York City.
It would be naive to think those in power didn’t know this would happen. It appears it was planned and executed.
NYC suspends freedom, brings in military troops in martial law
This is martial law. Calling it as such is not an exaggeration by any means. The police have been the standing army in New York City for many years, but now the mask is completely off and actual war troops have hit the pavement in full camo fatigues. I will remind and point out that the Constitution never mentions police or law-enforcement officers. It does, however, mention certain inalienable rights and the Militia.
2nd Amendment – Violated daily in New York City.
Carry a concealed pistol in NYC without a permit that’s hard or impossible to get, or carry it at any one of a million prohibited places and you go to jail if caught. Combined with the 4th-Amendment violating “stop and frisk” practices, you run a great risk simply wanting to protect yourself.
The 2nd Amendment was never about pistols, even, or common street criminals. It has always been about battle weapons for the more dangerous common criminals – tyrants. But you can’t even carry a pistol in NYC. Carry a modern rifle and you’re likely to be killed for exercising the true 2nd Amendment.
4th Amendment – Infringed “for your own good”
“Stop and frisk” has been popular in New York City for a very long time. Reasonable articulable suspicion? Who needs that – this is New York City. Warrant for searching? We do as we please. Giuliani loved this policy. While he made some other policies which helped reduce crime, there can be no forgiveness for the complete violation of the 4th Amendment. Statists and socialists under both labels love infringing on rights and claiming to solve problems in doing so.
Egregious and Intolerable
Make no mistake: these leaders in NYC wish to set a precedent and normalize what is a crime and an affront to freedom: complete suspension of your right to be secure in your persons, defend yourself, and live happily without standing armies staring you down, stopping you, hassling you, and fingering through your belongings.
This is why we are supposed to have an armed population and a militia – crime prevention through self-defense (concealed carry) and tyranny prevention through the proud and noble display of arms (open carry, especially rifles).
Image Discussion
The image in the story is from corporate media. It shows a couple of soldiers in uniform – camoflage fatigues. One has a rifle – AR-15 or M16 type. The same soldier also has a low-ride leg holster with leg-strap. In the background a young man can be seen compliantly opening and showing the contents of his bag to blue and purple-gloved police officers. It’s like TSA everywhere.
Not only are they infringing on all the liberties of a supposedly free people in a supposedly free country, but those free people are also paying for it! And of course the soldiers are “just following orders” obediently. History has likewise shown that you pay a cop or other soldier and they’ll usually do just about anything. They get into a group/collective mentality and identity willing to do whatever the group is told to do, and any reservations are softened with the reassurance of dutifulness and the reward of compensation.
