A judge has used lethal force – the threat of lethal force by pointing a gun at someone is often considered “use” of lethal force – against a man who simply was holding a sign that expressed his discontent with the judge. Thankfully, since it is 2024, we have it all on camera.
Years ago stuff like this would occur, government actors would accuse their dissidents of some crime, and it would be their word in their uniforms and robes vs. the individual. The power was all stacked-up against the citizen. It still is today, but at least now we have cameras to show the world what is going on and let the court of public opinion issue their own verdict!
The judge was not arrested or hassled or even questioned much at all by the police when the police came. He was treated very different than a regular citizen! He was not even disarmed. Let’s make sure this case receives the exact same treatment as a case of any other citizen. No special treatment for government actors! This appears to be a clear case of a government agent using the imminent threat of lethal force – gunpoint – in order to stifle dissenting speech which is protected by the 1st Amendment.
We post this story to show the contrast between how an average gun owner would be treated for pointing a gun at a protestor versus how a judge is treated. KeepAndBear.org supports the 1st Amendment as much as the 2nd Amendment – even speech with which we disagree (such as anti-gun speech). We do not support holding protestors at gunpoint due to the content of their speech. That is a crime and irresponsible gun ownership. We therefore demand this judge be held to the same standard as any other gun owner in this case of his imminent threat of deadly force. He should be prosecuted, convicted, and face penalties for the commission of this crime. Based on information available on the Internet, he probably should also never serve as a public employee again.
